    Voted a number of times as one of Bali's best restaurants, it is no wonder that customers continue to return to Balique in Jimbaran. The name itself is a French play on an Indonesian term meaning “to return.”

    The restaurant, situated in the charming seaside village of Jimbaran in south Bali, is set inside an expansive traditional Indonesian joglo. Acclaimed interior decorator Zohra Boukhari has curated a light, airy, fan-cooled space, that offers a welcome respite and comfort from the outside tropical heat. The interiors pay homage to the local beachside fishing village with relaxed splashes of turquoise, a cool blue-grey and lilac palette, distressed wood, heritage pieces and curios from around the archipelago with the addition of vintage lamps for ambience.

    Balinese head chef and homegrown talent, Ibu Made takes pride in offering authentic local cuisine with a fresh twist. To experience the full range of exquisite local flavor, order up a signature nasi campur, or for an elaborate Indonesian feast share a rijistafel with friends and family. As well as providing an interesting take on local favorites, Balique satisfies those with a taste for western flavors including marinated lamb kebabs with homemade harissa. (Apr 2016)
