      About

Bring mouthwatering, multi-award-winning Indian cuisine and stunning rooftop dining together and what you get is the stunning Rang Mahal perched atop the luxurious Rembrandt Hotel. In bygone times, Rang Mahal was the pleasure house and banqueting room specially decorated by Indian Kings with intricate mirror work and interspersed with intricate ‘Zharonkas’ or windows. Today, this recipient of the prestigious Thailand Tatler Best Restaurant, Editor’s Choice Award, and many other accolades offers an eclectic range of Indian cuisine from Mughlai and Nawabi fare to dishes from the fiery frontier. In fact, Rang Mahal’s tantalising mix of ethnic culinary styles are curated by renowned chefs flown in from India to ensure that the most traditional and authentic flavours are served up to discerning diners.

Signature dishes such as the Tandoori Prawns and the Tandoori Murgh, the world-famous tandoori chicken marinated in yoghurt and oriental spices impress while the Palak Aap Ki Pasand, a dish of luscious creamed spinach is served up with a choice of cottage cheese, mushrooms, potatoes, or green peas should be a staple at every table. Finally, the Roganjosh Kashmiri, or pot-roasted mutton stewed in thick onion gravy with heady spices is an epicurean delight that must not be missed. Slurp it up with the help of some warm Garlic Naan for maximum enjoyment. Apart from a la carte dishes, set menus are also available alongside the popular Sunday brunch.

As you tuck into the delicious fare, don’t forget to soak in the rich atmosphere of the regal dining room. Candle light illuminates the majestic columns and arches of the main dining room, the perfect dining spot for large groups. Alternatively, quieter corners provide welcome respite for soft conversation or a bit of romance. What more can one ask for? (July 2018)

      The buzz

“There’s no way to overstate the satisfaction of booking brunch at this sky-high Indian fine-dining perch. The abundant food spread—sinfully rich curries, perfectly barbecued tandoori meats and pillowy, well-charred breads—tastes as inspired as it always has done, while the ambience is more than a match for it. For the best experience, pick one of the window seats amid Rang Mahal’s decadent blend of OTT plasterwork and regal fabrics.” - BK Magazine
