The star of this restaurant is the laksa soup -- a rich and spicy concoction that comes with an extra bowl of laksa leaves for you to add as you wish. While it’s tempting to slurp up the gravy on its own, San Laksa Steamboat offers a wide variety of fresh seafood, vegetables, and meat for you to amp up your hot pot experience.

    Start with local vegetables such as kang kong, Chinese lettuce, and a mixed platter of mushrooms to infuse sweetness into the soup. Love cheese? The cheese tofu is a popular item here, where a square of fermented beancurd hides a lovely, cheesy middle. And no laksa soup can be complete without an order of tau pok — the spongy beancurd skin is the perfect way to sop up all the richness of the laksa broth.

    For meats, try the fresh prawns or wafer-thin slices of pork collar. Diners who prefer more seafood in their hot pot can opt for the fresh toman fillet.
