    About

    We're a little reluctant to share this well-kept secret, but hidden behind an unassuming door at the Marriott Hotel is one of the sexiest cocktail bars in the Orchard belt.

    The Other Room, helmed by zany bartender and cocktail wizard Dario Knox, serves up some pretty mean prohibition-inspired craft cocktails. We especially love Dario's twists on classics like the smoke-infused Old Cuban, made with rum and citrus, or the bizarre Reverse Gin and Tonic, a mix of gin and tonic syrup that's carbonated at freezing temperatures at the table, ensuring a crisp, if a little science-fiction like, drink. On top of this, ask for any classic you can name, which Dario and his team will fix for you with pleasure.

    The main appeal for us, though, is Dario's pet project: he takes bottled spirits and finishes them in specially-treated casks to infuse them with new flavour dimensions. Your favourite whisky or rum can be turned into a completely different drink given some extra time in a sherry cask, or a gin you thought you knew and loved is given a new depth of flavour through infusions with all manner of fruit peel, herbs, and spices. It's a real mad scientist's lab here, and one that's guaranteed to change the way you enjoy your favourite spirits. If you ask Dario for recommendations, he can turn one of these finished spirits into a cocktail for you.
