    About

    Straight from the backstreets of Tokyo, Box n Sticks is a hidden home-style Japanese izakaya which is located just a few streets away from well-known Haji Lane and offers value-for-money lunch sets by day and a relaxed izakaya by night.

    In the afternoon, it draws in the lunch crowd with its value-for-money lunch sets and small plates. The Bara Chirashi Don — an assortment of fresh sashimi chunks, tamago, and tobiko on sushi rice — is a crowd favourite. For something unique, go for the fusion Asari Aglio Olio that comes with a generous serving of clams. Even the Salmon Mentaiko Don gets a twist with the addition of crispy tempura crumbs. Each main course also comes with one or two complimentary sides and a drink so you definitely won't leave hungry.

    As the sun sets, the menu expands to include maki rolls, kushiyaki (grilled skewers), yaki mono (grilled meats), and more. The kushiyaki is a must-try. Choose from a wide array of meats and vegetables such as the Gyu Niku with Pineapple, Ebi Butter, Bacon Mochi, and Sweet Corn Teriyaki. No trip to an izakaya is complete without tipples to pair with the food, and Box n Sticks certainly doesn't disappoint with its selection of draft beers and sakes. With the food and drinks nailed, all you need are your buddies for a great night out.
