    Since opening its doors in 2009, The Pit has been a go-to bar for many jolly revellers. The bustling space puts the spotlight on local craft beers, such as those from Archipelago Brewery. Draft beers include a Belgian Wit, Summer IPA, and Bohemian Lager from Archipelago, available as a glass, pint, jug, or even a tower. The craft beer trend follows through to the selection of bottled beers, with popular picks such as the Brooklyn Lager and Little Creatures.

    Not a big fan of beers? The Pit also has a decent selection of wines, spirits, and even cocktails. Try the Margarita, a zesty concoction of lime, mango, and strawberry; or opt for the Sangria, where red wine is infused with a generous amount of sweet fruits.

    Bar bites here are kept simple, made to be the perfect accompaniment for a pint of icy cold beer. Snack on sweet potato fries or dip tortillas into chunky salsa, and if you’re after something a little heartier, get the Cheeseburger. The classic combination of ground beef patty topped with a slice of melted cheddar, sandwiched between buttery buns, is always a winner. (Jul 2019)
